Ana  > Nature > Glacier National Park, July 2009
Photos from the trip I took with my husband, Chris, to Glacier in Montana. July 2009.
We took a stuffed chicken named Cleo with us so the kids could feel like they were a part of the trip, even though they didn't come with us.

Ana > Setting off on the highway, coffee in hand. Next stop, Glacier.
Ana > Are we there yet? Roadwork slowed us down...
Ana > Had to stop for some fabulous cherries! Cleo here again.
Ana > 5 bucks. Soooo good but we ate too much too fast. Not great for the belly.
Ana > At the cherry stand, Cleo got to meet Shadow up close and pretty personal...
Ana > Chris downloaded a pic of a Winnebago for his TomTom, despite the fact that we were driving a brand new Subaru Legacy (with 6 miles on it when we picked it up from Budget!). Then the Tom Tom got confused, and though we were floating in some river that...wasn't actually there.
The TomTom earned a D+ grade for the trip, since it directed us to a private home instead of our hotel the first night, and then did this.
Ana > Cloud shadows over striking mountains and rolling fields rush by the car window.... A little self-portrait.
Ana > Welcome to North America's first and only International Peace Park, eh.
Glacier shares a border with Canada's Waterton park, creating common ground between countries. This t-rex skeleton is in the lobby of the Canadian offices outside the western entrance to Glacier.
Ana > This rock in Coal Creek looked to me like some weird drowned head with green hair.
Ana > Beautiful daisies, and a bonus aphid, on the banks of Coal Creek.
Ana > View from the road on our way to Kintla Lake.
Ana > Detail of burned timber on the way to Kintla. A fire in 2003 burned many thousands of acres.
Ana > Sun setting through evergreens that surround the Kintla Lake campground.
